Why Us
WE LOVE IT HERE.
We think that you will, too!
A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY
In the late 1700's Lamberton Allen built a log cabin on this property, just south of the present house. He was the first settler in Grand Isle and constructed the first road on the island in 1783. In 1790 he sold part of the property to Dr Simeon Clark, who built the present house with hand hewn timber and wooden pegged joints. Dr Clark was the paymaster for the US Army. In search of gold coins during the War of 1812, British soldiers invaded the property. They left with no gold, but a few geese for dinner. The historic barn was completely renovated in 2009 and is ideal for hosting couples looking for a charming facility. The sprawling grounds offer an opportunity for you and your loved ones to enjoy beautiful sunsets over the Adirondack Mountains of New York and historic Lake Champlain. The gorgeous, natural setting paired with the rustic but modern barn can provide you with several backdrops for photo opportunities.
